Further Inspiration

TRAILER INSPIRATION -
'HOUSE AT THE END OF THE STREET'

We love the fast cut shots that 'House at the End of the Street' use in the trailer and want ours to look like these, so we must focus on sharp editing and using good professional actors.
As we wanted to include a lose love story to connect our characters, we want a short kiss scene between the jock and the promiscuous female. This trailer mixes love scenes and scary scenes well and we are going to take ideas from this.

'THE HOUSE'

Something in this trailer that drew our attention was the mise-en-scene, as although very it included very typical props and backgrounds such as blood and a haunted house. Furthermore the fact that this footage was shot in the night also added to the horror genre.
We also were drawn to how a voiceover is used to explain the rules of survival set by the murder. We found this had a huge effect on the tone and eerie feel of the trailer and helped us to further understand the plot and storyline of the whole film. We now feel as though a voiceover may be something we want to look into to help us explain our storyline.
Lastly it was effective how the trailer included text to further promote the film, with a simple font and colour against a plain black background, as it flows smoothly between shots using fades, which we believe adds to the creepy and supernatural tone/genre.
