We looked at websites from current movies in the cinemas, including Les Miserables and Life of Pi. We noticed they shared a number of factors such as...

• Large background image from the movie
• Logo of the movie large and centered 
• Other important text around the logo such as a tagline, release date, actors etc
• Few pages that are simply named - 'Home' 'Photos' etc
• Links to social networking sites 
• Reviews/nominations from well known names 

Overall the websites are kept simple and eye catching, so the logo/graphics of the film stands out. 

We thought the Life of Pi website was brilliant with actual footage from the film as the background, its extremely eye catching and draws you in to the film making you intrigued and want to watch it. They haven't much else on the website apart from the logo, we have noticed LESS IS MORE with movie websites. 

The Les Miserables website also displays an eye catching image, using the iconic orphan with bright eyes that stare at you. Again the website uses not much apart from the logo and photo from the movie.
