Conventions of a teaser trailer..

WHAT ARE THE CONVENTIONS OF A TEASER TRAILER?

After deciding our horror genre we realised we needed to explore into the conventions we need to include in our teaser trailers. Finding out what intrigues our target audience and makes them want to watch the whole film. So we decided to look into sound, editing, content and anchorage.

SOUND
  • Sound effects
    • exaggeration of diagetic noises e.g. doors, explosions and rustling.
  • Dialogue
    • diagetic dialogue of the actors talking
    • Non-diagetic voiceovers
  • Music
    • Score is background music without lyrics to create a mood
    • Sound track is a background song with lyrics
  • Silence
    • Where no sound is used to emphasise a moment
EDITING
  • Fast/ slow cuts
  • Transitions
  • Text
    • Title
    • Information e.g 'Coming Soon', 'Actor names'
CONTENT
  • Clips or screenshots of the film
  • Date released
  • Title of film
    • Film logo
  • Character introduction
  • Time order
  • Brief explantion of story line, genre becomes clear
  • Green screen
