Experimenting with Logos

After looking at fonts we experimented with making our own logo to use for our Twitter and Facebook page, and also incorporate it into the poster and website. We found a photo editing website called www.picmonkey.com that have a Halloween editing section which include fonts, pictures, effects etc that looked really professional and original so we decided to use this website to create a logo.

We found an image of a textured old wall on Google images and used this as a background to edit; grey gloomy concrete with erosion so it looks old and creepy, it was quite simple but has a creepy effect, with the dark shadows that are mysterious.

There were a number of 'Halloween' fonts on the website but we chose a messy one that could easily be writing written by a hand in blood. We decided that we wanted the writing to look like 'writing on the wall' as we thought this would be most effective. The writing was made dark red to imitate blood, and we placed the words in a random composition.

The Halloween effects also have blood splatters/drops that you can add so we placed some of these for effect around the text so it looked more like the writing was written in blood.

We made a couple of slightly different ones so we had a few to choose from and compare them.

For a smaller logo that could be used as an icon, we made a little one just using the letter 'W' with the same font, background etc...
